Twizzlers Take The Win, 3-0 Against Got Pink? (12/3)
(Saugus, Ca) What a way to end an awesome fall season... a 3-0 shut-out against Got Pink?  Simply, it was one of the strongest games the Twizzlers played this season.  Expert timing... and fast as lightning.

The Twizzlers took the field with a win in heart, and that is what they got.  It was "Hammer Time" as M.C. was on fire and scored a spectacular bar bouncing goal to start the team off.  Great passing and ball control proved to be the game winning advantage as every player on the field should receive a "Player Of The Game Award!"

Renee's 2 goals showed that following up on the ball at the net is a sure fire way to not only intimidate, but to score as-well. The ball went from A to B to C.... to "G" (Goal).

Great saves at the net from Rachel and "Nikki Kix" were highlights of the game and the season.

We came into this season ranked "10th" - and stayed in the top 5 the whole season.  To me, that is a win in it's self.  I am very proud of this team, and just as proud of our sidelines, who pumped up the team every game this season.  Moms, Dads, Aunts, Uncles and Grandparents of the Twizzlers, Hats Off to you, we thank you for all of the support you gave us.  I will have to say that the quote of the season is... "God Bless America!"

Twizzlers Take The Win, 1-0 Against Too Hot! (11/19)
(Saugus, Ca) Great passing, strong kicks, and the will to win, paid off for the team. In a game that was 0-0 at Half-time, the Twizzlers turned up the heat in the second half against Too Hot To Handle, to take the win.

I know I have said it before, but.. I am so proud of this team!  The passion they have, put with the skills at their feet, makes for a great game of soccer.  Headers, Throw-ins, Ball Control, it was all in motion as the ball was kept in an offensive force most of the game.  A strong defense was there to support the offence and spectacular players were made, keeping the opponent from having a chance to control the ball near our net.

Great work, Twizzlers!

Twizzlers Take A Loss 4-3 against Whiteout (11/12)
(Saugus, Ca) What a B_E_A_U_TIFUL game of soccer!  The Twizzlers set out with a fight in their eyes and in their hearts, and a fight is what Whiteout got.

With hunger and determination, The Twizzlers would not give up the ball and played from the heart.  The strength and teamwork showed for a wonderful match against the strong team.  Control, passing and great skills were displayed by all with a strong defense and a smooth offence working great plays together.

I am very proud of this team and they way they held their own fight for the win.  Never did I see the team put their heads down... always straight up and ready to play.

Stats... I have no idea when, where, or how the GU14 Sats. are going to line-up, after the power outage last week, and how all of the games went this week.  We have two games ahead of us and the team needs to focus on the teamwork and take control and get the goal... Two wins can make a difference!

Twizzlers Take A Loss 0-3 against 24K (11/05)
(Saugus, Ca) A very good game was played by the Twizzlers, with great plays by all.  A very strong first half, with a 0-0 tie at half-time.  A couple good plays from the other team got by us, but now it's our turn to make some great scoring plays next week.

We can't win them all and the stats should stay very close.  I stayed at the field ... until the power went out... and saw how the other team's games ended up.  Hot Tamales tied and will get 1 point to have a total of 10 and Sunkissed lost, keeping us tied for 3rd with 10 points. (Note - I don't see the games that were cut a few minutes short being re-played... but you never know...) Guess I was wrong... They are going to "re-play" the games that were shut-down by the power outage... now we just wait and see.....

We can now put this game behind us and get ready for next week's game against Whiteout.  Remember... "Control Gets The Goal!"

Twizzlers Take The Win 1-0 against The Smurfs (10/29)
(Saugus, Ca) B_E_A_U_TIFUL Soccer, was played against The Smurfs, with the Twizzlers walking away with a 1-0 win.

Close... yes, it was a close game, with a 0-0 score at half time.  Strong defense and offence from the team reflected in tears and smiles from these great players. All parents should be very proud of the way their player played this past week.  Less talking at practice shows on game-day! We are still in a paper chase, with the top teams in our division to be played in the next couple of weeks.  I would like to remind all players... "Control Gets The Goal" and practice carries over to the game.  We are working on set plays... but we need to take them to the game....

Twizzlers Take A Loss, 1-0 against The Hot Tamales (10/22)
(Saugus, Ca) We all have "Friends," and "Best Friends," but when it comes to competition... "There Are NO Friends!"

In an awesome game of soccer, the Twizzlers and The Hot Tamales were in a dead even match most of the afternoon, until a shot from the Tamales made it into the Twizzlers net.  With fire in their eyes, the Twizzlers fought back with amazing plays, yet struggled to get the ball in the Tamales net, with the Tamales putting up a great defense to the final moments of the game.

Many great saves were made by Keeper, Rachel, while strong tactics came from her team-mates on the field. Strong Throw-ins and Ball-Control were at hand, but the strength of shots on the net seemed to be missing as the Twizzlers worked hard to keep the ball in an Offensive Line.

The Twizzlers drop one position in ranking, but will rise above the loss and head into next weeks game against the mighty Smurfs!

Below is the way our division stands after Saturday's game (10/22)

Twizzlers Tie 0-0 against Sunkist (10/15
(Saugus, Ca) In an awesome match of Soccer, the Twizzlers put up a strong fight against Sunkist, keeping the score 0-0.

Hard playing from all proved that this team is really coming together and ready for the challenge every-week.  There is no-way I can have a "player of the game," when this team is one-strong-unit!

I am very proud of this team and honored by having the best

Sideline in GU14.  To have a group of people come-together for the "Coaches Birthday" is simply an honor I will always cherish.  In seasons past, BreAnna MacLennan and her mom, along with Alexis and her mom, would bake cupcakes and we would have a celebration of my day at our practice field.  This year, to have everyone gathering at El Chaparral was a real special gift and I have to thank Lucy and Lovi for putting together a party I will never forget!

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE
The Twizzlers are off to a great start this season.  Two wins in the books and ready for more...

Last Saturday, October 8th, was an awesome display of team work and talent on the field. The team came together with awesome defensive plays to take the win.  Emily was the lone scorer, and with out that goal, we would have had a tie, instead of a 1-0 victory.  Ok, I have to hand it to Rachel for some of the most awesome saves at our goal...  Rachel, you rock!

As I picked this team during the draft, I was smiling with every pick... no, not because I built an un-stoppable team, but I had a team of great parents and players.  I am looking forward to the rest of the season, and hope you are too!

Please note that all games that were scheduled for field #4 are now on field #1.  It is the first field closest to Bouquet.

I have uploaded some photos and made a photos page for the Twizzlers.  It is hard to take pictures and coach... so if you have a camera, bring it, and share the photos with us here at CoachScott.com.

The Twizzlers Party After Wining 2-1
(Saugus, Ca) - As the sun-set over Santa Clarita's Central Park, the Twizzlers' took the field against "To Hot To Handle", with high hopes...

In what I would call a "BEAUtiful Game," the Twizzlers played from the heart and showed what they are made of.  With outstanding plays by offense and defense, the team worked on plays they have learned at practices, and with great success, and even scoring on a "Twerps" corner kick. That's Right... Twerps!

Sweet soccer was at hand from the Twizzlers against the strong team.  Strategic moves and clean controlled play of the ball had the team up 2 to 0 at half-time.

In fourth quarter, the Twizzlers found a hard fighting team ready to take away the win, with just minutes left of play.  The Twizzlers never gave up, even with To Hot To Handle scoring one, making for a close 2-1 victory for the Twizzlers.

To end a fine evening of soccer, the Twizzlers and the sideline packed up and head out for an evening of celebration at Don Cucos.

The 2005 Season Gets Underway This Weekend
(Saugus, Ca) - With a name like Twizzlers, they have got to be sweet... well, off the field, maybe...

It's down to the time practices are really important.  We have our first game this Saturday and I will structure the team into positions Thursday, so attendance is very important.  For those with players moving up from U12, remember, the field is much larger... yes, we will have two more players on the field at a time, but the ball needs to travel farther when passing. Passing should be 18 yards.

The team has really played well together at practice and we are seeing some great moves by all and that can only show for what is yet to come on the field.  Our first two games are practice games and I will more than likely adjust the team’s positions accordingly. All players are strong and that is a big plus!

Please help in reminding the players on the way to practice to focus on "TWO and THREE TOUCH SOCCER" - and - " Play your area" - The rest is up to them, so please.... please, no sideline coaching!  If your player leaves a game after not playing the best "we" expected... please back off of the player, trust me.. they are in a self-pain that our words can never compare.

I ask that you be encouraging this season.  Remember the referees; coaches and players are there for a great game of soccer...  I will however address problems that may happen on the field, such as "Bad Calls", and we will do it in a positive learning format, not the bad stuff I have been through before.  I will address players as a team and as individuals if need be off-to-the-side.

Ok, I will stop the speech here :)  You are all great parents and that is one reason I picked your player to be on the great "Twizzlers!"

I look forward to an awesome season of soccer and hope you are as-well :)

Before I forget... Please have your player drink plenty of water during the week... everyday they need to hydrate so that they don't dehydrate during play. (Thanks!)
