UNDEFEATED

Looking Back On Spring 2004
Saugus, Ca - Dreams do come true!  As you click on the news pages of this site, you will see the Hot Shots! went undefeated this past spring.

Every coach would love to win every game, what a dream... To have 11 kids come together and take control of the field... wake-up coach!... I am awake... A dream come true!

Each player's skills complemented the other's.  Awesome soccer every single game.  The knowledge of soccer was a plus, but it was the attitude that kept this strong team together.  Their spirit was never broke. As the team was down a goal or two here and there, it just made them stronger... their spirit for the game was the key to winning.

The side-lines were packed every Saturday, cheering the team on to victory after victory, the parents were just as much a part of the team.

Each player should remember this season forever, but what if your first season of soccer ever, was an undefeated one?  We had 2 first timers on the team, and one who had only played one fall season.

Eleven players on the team, eleven players scoring goals.  That's right, everyone on the team scored at least one goal during the season. "Hey, what is my daughter doing up there? she is a defender!" came from one of the parents. I could only reply with, "I know, and my sweeper is a striker!"

The team scored a total of 60 goals, and only 12 scored against them, in 8 games, totaling an average of 7.5 goals scored per game, and 1.5 scored against them.

What a team and what a season!

I wish all of the players great success at what ever they do, and all I can ask them to do is, remember these words.. "Control Gets The Goal!"

Notes and Reminders
First Aid/Injury - I always have a first aid kit on hand at practice.  If your child is hurt on or off the field, during or away from an AYSO event (practice included), and the child sees a physician, a Doctors Release is required for the player to return to play.
Carpools - These are great, but make sure you have all contact numbers as well as the coach having a copy. (Cell phones are a great have!)
Parents Comfort - Bring a chair if you plan on staying at practice and at the games.  There are no bleachers of any kind at the parks or the schools.
Flat Balls - They get us no-where!  Please make sure balls are pumped always.
